Sweet! So a 0.5 micron filter to allow for some more air flow I'm guessing. I look forward to checking out the video. Thanks for the tip.

Well I can say you are doing your part by putting so much time into sharing knowledge and cultivating community, the fruits of which I'm sure are already starting to show in many ways. Paraphrasing the guy interviewed in the article, building community around shared values and common growth is the foundation for any collective/ cooperative to work. Perhaps without growing the network of relationships and mutual support that has been the foundation for many exotics growers, we are fated to having the same fate as the button industry,

I'm also curious abou that. In my little experience, I have seen that quite a bit. Is it affecting the total yield though? If not, maybe it shouldn't be a concern. Or maybe it's an indicator to improve something before it becomes a real concern. Let's see what others have to say.

Wow, super cool and exciting stuff. I haven't gotten into breeding yet, but glad to see delving into it. y'all expanding that knowledge and technology , and specially sharing your dives with the community.

I appreciate y'alls' input. The QC plate came out clean so it was probably the mushroom skin 😉

Very insightful! In you knowledge/ experience, can mycelium be triggered into stroma "mode" while grain spawn, but not display it . In other words, it is not visible on grain mycelium, but shows up during block incubation. Or in cases where it shows up in colonization, the probability is much higher that it was triggered due to block/ incubation condition?

Just wanted to reiterate how much I value having an open source of reliable information from your years of experience, practice and research to draw and learn from.

That has been my experience too.. except in this case it happened to G2 thanks for sharing your anecdotal experience.

And it seems from the video that the moisture content is crucial and I should aim for 56% for spawn substrate. (I'm assuming that is the total moisture content of spawn substrate, measured after hydration and sterilization)

Gregor You rock! Thanks for such a detailed answer. That's basically what I was going for intuitively, based on my knowledge, but your advice was exactly what I was looking for.  I appreciate your time and hope that others can benefit from this question as well. Peace!
