Started log pro in 13 then straw. Used covid money to built a container fruiting chamber and lab. Now trying to master LC-> liquidity.

Y’all’s new video on LC had me thinking about a few things I’ve been messing with. One, is there any real problem with pouring LC over injecting it? Using the needles seems wasteful and a contamination risk in some ways. Especially reusing without a zapper.

Two, Can you feed an LC jar with fresh broth, like kombucha? I’ve used lc from an old jar to make a new one. I know you are loosing a generation vs going back to the master plate but sometimes it seems easier and not necessary if it’s right out of Cryo

Mushroom Coffee/Koffee Coughee Crowd source:

The biggest coffee roaster in our region has reached out about doing a mushroom coffee.  I'm trying to figure out our wholesale pricing and it led me down this rabbit hole.  We have been making mushroom chai tea and extracts that you can put in coffee but it's as good as a supplement and I have been recommending people put it into their cup even tho it's not as fine as commercial sand blasted stuff.

Putting it into a drip/pour over filter kinda clogged it.  I was wondering if anyone knows if companies that make mushroom coffee with coffee have a courser grind to the mushrooms to help it not clog the filter and do they extract the mushroom beforehand like boiling or pressure cooking or let the hot water do the extraction?

I've been telling people to drink or eat as much of the chunks as they want in our current products but I've been wondering once it's an extract do you get the whole value of it by drinking the tea made with it or do you have to consume the mushrooms to get the full dose?

In order words,  does the mushroom getting brewed or pre-extracted getting brew still pass the benefits through to the coffee?

I thought y'all might be interested in my pneumatic bagger review and slight improvements. I still totally wish I knew about Fenrir and Thor before I made this thing but if your doing this for a living and not automated your bagging your going to break your hand like me or worse.

Either the community or the mycowizards team. I was wondering if anyone has experience with Almond Agaricus? I’ve been trying over the years at this time with no real luck. I’m tried expanding spawn, I have LC (different culture) and no luck yet going to diff grains, I’ve tried low tech and high tech. I’m guessing it’s a substrate issue.  My old supplier FF said composted oyster straw bags but their spawn looked like wood plus I don’t have straw bags anymore. I’ve tried manure and straw but maybe it maybe wasn’t composted enough. I’m having my employee grab manure otw and going to try it straight. Idk why these bastards have given me such a pain.  As far as fruiting I’ve had great luck just breaking the blocks in half long ways and putting them under summer annuals mulched in compost/manure. Way easier and faster than making beds.

I got one of these water flow controller for my pneumatic bagger and I've always wanted it to work better.  last week it broke, so I got a nicer flow meter valve for it, that turned out way worse and I ended up replacing the whole thing to get back to where I was but I'd love to know if there is a step up in quality.  I saw some shit that was like 1K but I'd prefer a couple hundred.

It's not as alluring as cordyceps but stuff everyone needs...  I have two questions but I'll lump them together:

1)Production bag labeling.

I remember some Myers Video a few years ago with some code to translate letters into numbers of some shit using a pricing gun.  I also had a flashback of seeing SWmushrooms using thermal labels.  I found a bluetooth thermal label printer that does a variety of sizes for less than $80, seem like a winner?  Been sharpie-ing for years now and if I was still knocking everything myself I would have gotten this sooner!

2)Packaging retail mushrooms.

Once I had more then I could pint out, I realized people buy more at markets when it's not prepackaged. So, we sell everything in reuse-able (RPCs- I think) collapsible trays.  Pile it high, watch it fly!  Now that I'm hitting the cap with retail at market and slowly getting into more restaurants again since covid, I'm finding more retail opportunities that require packaging.  Curious what people like or dislike or what preforms well.  For the limited stuff I have been, it's been wrapping half pounds with plastic wrap in green produce cartons with a sticker and it's okay but...

First of all mad props to the MycoWizards team!! 🤯  Y'all are crushing it and I'm so grateful to be a part of it.  I feel like you made the King Trumpet Video just for me and I haven't had a chance to watch it or much of the new stuff but tomorrow is the day!!  It's my day off and on full on Dad duty but I'll be streaming your content, working on my "Youtube University Mushroom pHD".

Enough smoke blowing... So, the main reason I reach out to everyone is, there's an auction locally that has this and there's no info about it.  The picture sucks, I know!!!

I can go look at the item in person on Thursday but does anyone know what this is (name, make, model)?  The size of the vessel?  What it runs on?  I guess just anything about it and if I should get it if it's a couple hundred... or couple grand or twenty five dollars?  IDK JK

Howdy everyone it’s been a while to hit up the community but I would love some info and experience on Nebrodini.

Everything has gone well from LC-bulk masters but I’ve never gotten them to fruit. When we were knocking a lot of them we were primarily letting oysters pin in the bag before opening. They never did. I tried top, side and other things with temps bc of the transition to winter. The only thing I just realized I haven’t done is open them up right at full colonization.  Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?

Those little bastards are a pain! When I first started buying blocks I left like I was better at fruiting but my room density was a lot lower and the op was bran new. I’d love to know more about strains, fruiting styles… anything else… helpful. I got some smaller bags and wondering if those would help….

Thanks Erik and C&S for the super clean and affordable culture!

I had the thought to make plug spawn for yuppies to grow out but I was wondering if anyone knows what type of wax (and where to get it) that people are using as room temp pliable plug spawn wax?

I was also wondering if people have experience growing it commercially?  I know about plugging logs and burying them colonized and seen F&F talk about sterilizing logs to inoculate.  Seems like a hobby thing to do tho.

I'm guessing it would be a gold mine to figure out how to grow it in bags commercially like Maitake.  Does anyone know how that strain went from being foraged to block production and why that hasn't been done with COW?
