I gave a talk at the OK Fungi Fest this past summer and man it was odd to listen to Willy give a "talk" on LSD...he got a lot of the facts wrong and really didn't share anything everyone hasn't already heard. It was a bit of a bummer to know he is just in it for the $$$ but he has been in it for just that since the beginning (using his ICP Family rhetoric to sow seeds of a following) He has done some good, but he shadows a serious collective of mycologists that he pulled from for early inspiration. Dude's gotta get his facts straight. Stoked for more Workman episodes...he is a true blue badass! Hamilton's episode was a rough one, but after all Hamilton is a awkward interviewer!

ITs funny you should mention this, I am just about to sit down with David Medlock of Highland Fungi to record a podcast and one of the main topics we are stoked to talk about is water filtration. Here are some still of a paper David sent to me and maybe he has more to say on the matter here. Regardless I think its high time we did a water filtration Deep Dive episode and dedicate it to YOU! When it comes to substrate and spawn prep minerals can be a valuable micronutrient for mycelium but it can raise some hell in humidification, from blotch to rosecomb to equipment issues. RO for humidification in fruiting is ideal where as production it is more of a question of the the minerals wear and tear on equipment. For boilers and retorts we soften and carbon scrub our city water to prevent damage to equipment. In Sub and Spawn testing water is important to make sure it doesnt have an abundance of anything bad such as heavy metals which can be common with well water.

Tyler Thanks so much for the update, it brings up a solid point a lot of farms have a hard time getting ahead on and that getting paid! We have been screwed time and time again over the years by farms we will ship blocks or spawn to that will never pay. Some of them are big "names" in the game, but never the less, shitheads at paying. So its a great warning to heed...hopefully you were able to collect?! Extraction stuff is radical! Have you looked into Ultrasonic over Soxhlet? Ill try and dig up a study on the benefits and post it up! Keep slaying the books amigo, Got Nature Of Drugs 1 and 2 if you ever want to borrow them...long live Shulgin!

What's the update good homie? Sorry I missed this one! Share how your experience has been so far going full Ham in Chestnut-Land!

It is perpetually in the works but we are so glad to hear you are psyched on it!

That was Rad!

Thank Tony! In the incubation space our temps are 66F and humidity does fluctuate but that doesn't make much of a difference for varieties fruited inside of an XLS-A patched bag because of the air exchange restriction. Gas exchange is one thing but you cannot get forced air out of an A patch bag that's sealed well. Lighting is something that really helps with robust invitro yeilds. Specifically in the case of Reishi, Lions Mane and Maitake...If you can see well so can they, I say. Our incubation spaces in general run in the range of 1500-2500PPM wise, this is important to consider for many reasons but mostly due to temp increasing with PPMs and autofruiting increasing with lower PPMs.
